Altar Guild
This team is responsible for preparing the altar for all services. They store and maintain the altar paraments, altar cloths, brass and candles. They also find people to bake the communion bread. Contact: Anne Anderson
Assisting Minister
This team is responsible for helping lead worship. They assist the pastor with liturgy and prayers as well as communion. The time required is during regular worship at the 9:30AM service. Contact: Anne Anderson
Worship Participants
Hope members are encouraged to help with worship by reading the lesson, offering prayers and serving communion. Contact: Anne Anderson
Ushers
Hope’s ushers greet worshipers, distribute hymnals and bulletins, pass the offering baskets, direct worshipers to communion, care for the Hope outdoor signs and pick-up after the service. Contact: Dan Dutton
Communications Committee
This committee works to keep the congregation and the community aware of the vision, missions, programs and goals of Hope Lutheran. They write press releases, develop the structure for Hope Notes and the web page, supervise the name tag program, and work with all the other committees with communication needs. Fiscal Affairs
They work with the treasurer to insure all gifts to Hope are properly recorded and that all expenditures are kept within Hope’s Ministry Plan. Contact: Lisa Rydland
Membership and Congregational Life Committee
This committee is dedicated to enrich our faith community through various fellowship activities. They discuss what our church members are seeking and wanting to do to help deepen their spirituality. They develop programming that is interesting, while helping new members feel welcomed and included in the life of Hope. Their mission is to include as many people as possible through social and spiritual activities to build a stronger foundation and connection to Hope as well as to each other. Contact: Nancy Miller
Mission Committee
The mission committee works to help people in need, physically or spiritually. Many projects offer members of Hope to help those with less in the River Falls area and around the globe. The synod quarter drive, a yearly hunger program, the food shelf and other opportunities are some of the many projects members of Hope can be a part. Contact: TBD
Mutual Ministry
The mutual ministry team is to foster a broad vision of ministry and a healthy practice of mutuality within Hope Lutheran. The team is a small group developed to work mutually in a confidential manner, studying and responding to the ministry of the congregation with the primary focus on mission. Their role includes the following responsibilities to the church council and to the congregation as a whole; sharing observations with the council after each meeting; making suggestions to the council regarding investigation of particular situations which need attention; assist the pastor and the congregation in understanding and clarifying our mutual goals and expectations for mission and ministry. Nurture/Education Committee
They are responsible for organizing the Sunday school and Adult Education opportunities for Hope. These activities include Sunday school for Pre-K through 8th, 9th grade confirmation class, adult education, coordination of Vacation Bible School with the Congregational Church, promotion of Luther Point Bible Camp and providing bibles for 6th grade students. Property Committee
The property committee maintains our space for worship, drafts our leases and plans for space for education and worship, covers property and liability insurance on behalf of the congregation and looks into future property and building needs for the congregation. Contact: Amanda Berndt
Worship Committee
They plan and coordinate all the music for worship, plan bulletin format, recommend worship hymnals and other service materials, arrange pastoral supply as needed, help to find lay members to be involved in services, plan special services, and work with the pastor to maintain dynamic, active and vital worship. Special Note: Meeting Schedules
Most of the Hope committees meet the 1st Monday of he month at 7PM at the Newman Center. Membership/Congregational Life meet the 1st Monday at 4PM at Dish & Spoon. Check Hope Notes and the weekly bulletin for meeting time/changes.
